A mild hybrid, which Maruti sells as Smart Hybrid, uses a small battery to help the engine and saves much less fuel. A plug-in hybrid charges from the grid and runs further on electricity.

Methodology
We use the same research process for every buying guide on Smart Hybrid Hub. Before a guide goes live, it has to clear the checks below.
