Hybrid SUVs With a Panoramic Sunroof in India (2026): Variants and Prices

Hybrid SUVs With a Panoramic Sunroof in India (2026): Variants and Prices

On the Victoris and Grand Vitara the panoramic sunroof is tied to the (O) sub-variant, not to the trim or the engine, so a ZXI+ Strong Hybrid has a metal roof and a ZXI+(O) Strong Hybrid does not. On the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder the roof is absent on the Hybrid S at Rs 17,18,000 and starts at the Hybrid G(O) at Rs 19,24,000. Across all three Suzuki-built SUVs, moving from the cheapest mild hybrid with the roof to the cheapest strong hybrid with the roof costs between Rs 4,37,000 and Rs 4,74,900. Only the Victoris has a Bharat NCAP rating, and only the Victoris ZXI+(O) 6AT at Rs 17,43,000 combines a panoramic sunroof with Level 2 ADAS, on a mild hybrid rather than a strong one.

Five hybrid SUVs on sale in India put a panoramic sunroof and a hybrid powertrain on the same variant: the Maruti Victoris, the Maruti Grand Vitara, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the Kia Sorento and the Lexus NX 350h. The cheapest way in is the Victoris ZXI(O) at Rs 13,69,000 ex-showroom, but that car is a mild hybrid. Want a strong hybrid that can move on battery power alone and still see sky, and the floor rises to Rs 18,43,900 for the Victoris ZXI(O) Strong Hybrid, Rs 18,55,300 for the Grand Vitara Zeta+ (O) and Rs 19,24,000 for the Hyryder Hybrid G(O). Roughly Rs 4.5 lakh for the identical piece of glass.

SUVs only here. For the Invicto, Innova Hycross and the rest, see our list of hybrid MPVs with a sunroof.

What counts, and which kind of hybrid

Two filters decide this list, and both trip up casual shortlists.

First, panoramic. Plenty of SUVs have a sunroof that is one glass panel over the front seats, and the brochures treat that as a separate item. The Maruti Brezza has an electric sunroof, Honda's Elevate a one-touch electric sunroof with slide and tilt. Neither is panoramic, so neither car appears below.

Second, hybrid. This list covers both kinds sold in India and labels every row, because excluding the mild ones would hide the three cheapest answers. On the Suzuki-built cars here, a strong hybrid means a 177.6 V lithium-ion pack and an 80 PS motor that can drive the car at low speed on its own. A mild hybrid, badged Smart Hybrid by Maruti and NeoDrive by Toyota, is a 12 V 6 Ah ISG that assists the engine and cannot move the car by itself.

Prices are ex-showroom Delhi, read on 15 October 2026 from Maruti's own price feed, Toyota's published price list and Kia's and Lexus India's model pages. Maruti figures are for single-tone paint; dual tone adds Rs 15,400 on every Victoris and Grand Vitara variant here except the Victoris ZXI+(O) Strong Hybrid, where it costs nothing. Toyota's dual-tone premium on the Hyryder is Rs 20,000.

What the strong hybrid actually costs you

The three Suzuki-built SUVs each sell the same panoramic roof twice, once on a mild hybrid variant and once on a strong hybrid one. Lining those pairs up is the most useful thing here.

SUVMild hybrid with the roofStrong hybrid with the roofStep upMileage gain
Maruti VictorisZXI(O) 5MT, Rs 13,69,000ZXI(O) Strong Hybrid, Rs 18,43,900Rs 4,74,90021.18 to 28.65 km/l

Mileage is each maker's own certified claim for that powertrain.

Not all of that money buys the hybrid system: the strong hybrid also moves you up a trim on the Grand Vitara, and all three are automatics where the cheapest mild hybrid is a manual. The pattern holds anyway. Panoramic roof plus mild hybrid starts under Rs 15 lakh; panoramic roof plus strong hybrid starts over Rs 18 lakh.

Maruti Victoris

Cheapest answer in both halves of the table, and the only car here with a crash rating.

Maruti ties the roof to the (O) sub-variant, not to the trim name or the engine. A plain ZXI, ZXI+ or ZXI+ Strong Hybrid has metal overhead; the (O) version of each has glass. On the ZXI manual that step costs Rs 7,100, one of the cheapest roofs on sale anywhere.

Seven (O) variants are priced: ZXI(O) 5MT Rs 13,69,000, ZXI(O) 6AT Rs 15,25,000, ZXI+(O) 5MT Rs 15,48,000, ZXI+(O) 6AT Rs 17,43,000, ZXI(O) Strong Hybrid Rs 18,43,900, ZXI+(O) 4WD Rs 19,26,900, ZXI+(O) Strong Hybrid Rs 19,98,900. No CNG variant gets the roof.

From the brochure: the 1.5-litre K15C Smart Hybrid makes 103.06 PS and 139 Nm and claims 21.18 km/l as a manual. The M15D Strong Hybrid engine makes 92.45 PS and 122 Nm, the motor adds 80 PS and 141 Nm, and the pair claims 28.65 km/l. Maruti prints no combined output for the Victoris, which is odd when it publishes 115.56 PS for the same hardware in the Grand Vitara.

It holds a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating at 31.66 of 32 for adults and 43 of 49 for children, assessed August 2025. The applicability grid runs from LXI to ZXI+(O) 4WD across the 5MT, 6AT and eCVT strong hybrid, and leaves CNG off.

What the ZXI(O) Strong Hybrid does without: ventilated seats, head-up display, 360-degree camera and Dolby Atmos are all ZXI+ items. Maruti also marks the electric parking brake with brake hold against the 6AT only, so the e-CVT strong hybrid goes without that too.

Maruti Grand Vitara

The same (O) logic on the NEXA car, for Rs 11,400 more at the strong hybrid end.

The brochure ticks the panoramic sunroof with an (O) against the Zeta, Alpha, Zeta+ and Alpha+. Sigma, Delta and the strong hybrid Delta+ never get it at any price, and the Zeta (O) manual costs Rs 4,100 more than the plain Zeta. Two strong hybrids qualify: Zeta+ (O) at Rs 18,55,300 and Alpha+ (O) at Rs 19,62,000. The mild hybrid (O) variants run from Rs 13,89,100 for the Zeta (O) 5MT up to Rs 18,62,600 for the Alpha (O) 4WD.

The strong hybrid is a 1,490 cc engine at 92.45 PS and 122 Nm with a 59 kW motor, rated 85 kW or 115.56 PS combined, claiming 27.97 km/l. The petrol is the 1,462 cc K15C at 103.06 PS, claiming 21.11 km/l as a manual. Against the Victoris, the Zeta+ (O) adds ventilated front seats. It does not add the head-up display, which the brochure reserves for the Alpha and Alpha+, or the 360-degree camera, also an Alpha item. Two bigger gaps: no Bharat NCAP rating, and no driver assistance on any variant in the brochure.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder

Mechanically the Grand Vitara's twin, and the one where this question is easiest to get wrong.

Toyota's grid puts the panoramic sunroof on four grades: NeoDrive G(O), NeoDrive V, Hybrid G(O) and Hybrid V. It is marked absent on the Hybrid S, which matters: that variant, at Rs 17,18,000, is the cheapest way into a Hyryder strong hybrid, and buyers assume the roof comes with it. The cheapest Hyryder with both is the Hybrid G(O) at Rs 19,24,000, a step of Rs 2,06,000.

Toyota publishes the full ladder, from Rs 12,82,000 for the NeoDrive S MT to Rs 19,99,000 for the Hybrid V in single-tone paint. The brochure's NeoDrive E grade is not on it.

The Hybrid is the same 1,490 cc engine and 59 kW motor as the Grand Vitara, 85 kW or 115.56 PS combined, claiming 27.97 km/l. The NeoDrive is the 1,462 cc petrol at 103.06 PS, and Toyota rates its torque at 136.8 Nm at 4,400 rpm, a little below the 139 Nm Maruti quotes for the same engine.

One real Toyota advantage: the head-up display is hybrid-only here, fitted to the Hybrid G(O) and V and to no NeoDrive grade. So Rs 19,24,000 buys the roof, the head-up display, ventilated front seats and a wireless charger, where the Grand Vitara Zeta+ (O) costs Rs 68,700 less and has no head-up display. The 360-degree camera stays on the V, and the Hyryder has no Bharat NCAP rating either.

Kia Sorento and Lexus NX 350h

The Sorento is the one non-Suzuki mass-market answer, and a far bigger car than the other three. Kia runs the Smartstream 1.6 Turbo GDi Hybrid 6AT across all nine trims alongside a 2.2 diesel, and the dual pane panoramic sunroof arrives at the HTE (O), the second trim. The hybrid pairs a 180 PS, 265 Nm turbo petrol with a 65 PS, 264 Nm motor, in 2WD or AWD, with seven airbags, TPMS and ISOFIX standard from the base HTE. Price is the problem: Kia's page starts the range at Rs 27,99,000 but publishes no variant-level list and no certified mileage in India, so we cannot tell you what an HTE (O) Hybrid costs.

The Lexus NX 350h is here because leaving it out would make this list look shorter than it is. Lexus India lists it from Rs 67,93,000 and names the panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and a 14-inch touchscreen among its features. With no variant-level grid or mileage published for India, we have named it rather than ranked it.

The one variant with a roof, a hybrid and ADAS

If driver assistance matters as much as the glass, there is exactly one answer. The Victoris ZXI+(O) 6AT at Rs 17,43,000 has the panoramic sunroof and Maruti's full Level 2 suite: adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane keep assist, high beam assist, blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert and autonomous emergency braking. It is a Smart Hybrid. The brochure marks that suite against the 6AT only, so no Victoris strong hybrid has it, and the other two brochures list no driver assistance at all. See also our list of hybrid SUVs with ADAS under Rs 20 lakh.

Hybrid SUVs that did not qualify

The Maruti Fronx 1.0 Turbo Smart Hybrid has no sunroof of any kind in its brochure, the Brezza has a single-panel electric sunroof, and the Taisor brochure lists no sunroof at all.

Two cars have the right roof and the wrong engine. MG fits a dual pane panoramic sunroof to every Hector above the base Style, but its own price list offers the Hector with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol only. Renault's Duster brochure puts an electric panoramic sunroof on the adventure trim and covers the TCe 100 and TCe 160 petrols; Renault had published no hybrid Duster brochure or price when we checked on 15 October 2026.

Five strong hybrids on this page's own cars come with a metal roof: the Victoris VXI at Rs 16,42,900 and ZXI at Rs 17,84,900, the Grand Vitara Delta+ at Rs 16,68,300 and Zeta+ at Rs 17,96,600, and the Hyryder Hybrid S at Rs 17,18,000.

If a mild hybrid is enough, our guide to mild hybrid SUVs in India covers the full set; if the hybrid system is the point, start with the cheapest strong hybrid SUVs.

How this list was built, and what we could not verify

Each entry needed two things from the manufacturer and nothing from anywhere else: a brochure grid naming a panoramic sunroof against a specific variant, and a price for that exact variant. Grids came from the Maruti Victoris and Grand Vitara brochures, the Toyota Hyryder specification brochure and the Kia Sorento brochure. Prices came from Maruti's ex-showroom price feed, Toyota's price list and Kia's and Lexus India's model pages, all read on 15 October 2026.

Three gaps. Kia publishes no variant-level price and no mileage for the Sorento, so the HTE (O) Hybrid is unpriced; Lexus publishes neither for the NX; and Toyota's price list carries no AWD Hyryder and no NeoDrive E grade, both of which the brochure still shows.

One caution. A panoramic roof through an Indian summer is a real load on the air conditioning, and sunshade quality varies more than any brochure admits. Sit in one at midday with the shade closed before deciding.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the cheapest hybrid SUV with a panoramic sunroof in India?

The Maruti Victoris ZXI(O) 1.5L 5MT at Rs 13,69,000 ex-showroom, as of October 2026. It is a Smart Hybrid, which is a mild hybrid and cannot run on electric power alone. The Grand Vitara Zeta (O) at Rs 13,89,100 is Rs 20,100 behind.

What is the cheapest strong hybrid SUV with a panoramic sunroof?

The Maruti Victoris ZXI(O) Strong Hybrid at Rs 18,43,900, then the Grand Vitara Zeta+ (O) at Rs 18,55,300 and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hybrid G(O) at Rs 19,24,000.

Does the Toyota Hyryder Hybrid S have a panoramic sunroof?

No. Toyota's brochure marks it as not available on the Hybrid S, which costs Rs 17,18,000. The roof starts at the Hybrid G(O) at Rs 19,24,000 on the strong hybrid side and at the NeoDrive G(O) at Rs 14,87,000 on the mild hybrid side.

Why do the Victoris and Grand Vitara need an (O) variant for the sunroof?

Maruti attaches the roof to the option-pack version of a trim, not to the trim or the engine. A Victoris ZXI+ Strong Hybrid at Rs 19,51,900 has no sunroof; the ZXI+(O) Strong Hybrid at Rs 19,98,900 does.

Is any non-Maruti hybrid SUV sold in India with a panoramic sunroof?

Two. The Kia Sorento offers a dual pane panoramic sunroof from the HTE (O) and a 1.6 Turbo GDi Hybrid on every trim, with the range starting at Rs 27,99,000, and the Lexus NX 350h is a self-charging hybrid with a panoramic sunroof from Rs 67,93,000. The Hyryder wears a third non-Maruti badge but shares its platform and powertrains with the Grand Vitara.
